Incontro dopo 47 anni

My mother-in-law Anna Mauro Domenek is in Gizzeria now, after 47 years
without seen her mother Rosina Mauro Marghella.
She arrived in Gizzeria on June 02, 2005 with her son Marcos Eduardo
Domenek. They will come back to Brazil on July 04.

Was a great meeting because she didn`t see her mother almost 47 years
too. There was around 50 persons of the family in the airport in
Lamezia Termé wating them to a big party.
We are very happy in Brazil and if possible your site to registre this
fact will be very important to us.

Non dimentichiamo le linee Rex

You cant tell the story of Gizzeria without addressing the way many
Gizzeroti traveled to their new homelands all over the world. One of
the many ships that took Gizzeroti from the mainland to the United
States was the magnificent Italia Line's Rex..I would think it would
be interesting to show and detail how Gizzeroti traveled to their
new destinations and adopted homelands , from Gizzeria over the years.
I was 5 years old when in 1937, I left Gizzeria for the United States
wih my mother Giovanna Rosato aboard the Rex. A magnicent ship and

my name is jim isabella and am the son of rosario isabella-valenzi and giovanna mercuri both from gizzeria and who emigrated to australia in 1953.
My grandparents were gennaro isabella-valenzi and michelina mastroianni(from the timpone) and michelino mercuri and carmela gallo(destra) Although born in australia in 1961 i have travelled to gizzeria on 6 occasions already and have formed close relationships with my many cousins and relatives over there--michele mercuri,luigi barilaro etc
I feel very much at home and comfortable when i am there and love the ambience and lifestyle

I am on the commitato di san giovanni battista in wollongong,australia and each year in december we organise the festival for san giovanni here

Salve,
non so di preciso quanti chilometri ci sono da Roma a Gizzeria, ma di sicuro si puo` viaggiare con il treno che impiega 5/6 ore (dovrebbero essere circa 500km, ma non sono sicuro). Il treno arriva a Santa Eufemia Lamezia e da li` ci sono altri 15Km per arrivare a Gizzeria, possibilmente in automobile.

Un'altra opzione sicuramente interessante sarebbe l'aeroplano, visto che a
Santa Eufemia c'e` un aeroporto ben collegato con Roma.

I am writing to you from Australia in a hope that you would be able to help me or steer me in the right direction to finding information about my grandfather. He was born in Gizzeria and fought and died in WW2.I have been told that the comune in gizzeria burnt down many years ago and all records for birth,death and marriages was lost.
My grandfathers name was Giovanni Batista Crapis.
Any information to where I can start looking would be a great help.
